Malapascua Once More

Malapascua Once More

I don’t know why but I am really in-love with Malapascua. This island caught my heart so much.  One small island but there are many activities to do.  By the way, I visited the island on end of October, non-peak season. When you say non-peak season in Philippines, it means  these are the days when there are less number of people and  the sea is not as beautiful as the peak season. It’s still beautiful but not really much.  The weather  is not stable unlike the best days. It rains and a bit windy.  The ideal months are March, April and May when the day is sunny and clear.  Moreover, you can read more of my Malapascua blog using these links for more information.

Now, let me share my personal experience.

I arrived at Maya port exactly 7:00 am. I even saw 10 Japanese enjoying the view, I’m thinking they’re going to do diving activities. The port was changed but for the better.  When you enter the port, you need to buy ticket which cost 100.00 PHP .

Additional Information:

  • There are times you need to ride a smaller boat in order to get to the boat ( The boat going to Malapascua). It costs 20.00 PHP. They use smaller boats, when the water is low and bigger boats can’t get close to the port.
  • Boat departs every 1 hour.
  • It takes 45 minutes from Maya to Malapascua.

I arrived at port 8:30. I took breakfast and enjoyed the beautiful view.

Yes, I do like coming back to this place.  Why ? I do enjoy this beautiful island they make you feel like you’re at home.

This time, I stayed in a low-cost but really clean hostel.  The first time I saw the hostel , it looks like the concept is like the capsule hotel. Then I got to talk with the owner and he did express how he loves Japan and its culture. He even got inspired by the Japanese style and mixed it with Philippine-island-style design.
