Alegria – Badian ; Canyoneering Information

Canyoneering has always been the talk of the adventure seeker ever since it had begun. Many people not just Cebuanos flocked towards that area just to try the famous extreme adventures. It all started when one famous artist whose show is all about Philippines’ beautiful islands and islets tried that one unknown-canyoneering at Alegria-Badian. It was unknown for most of the Filipinos even to the Cebuanos.

I personally haven’t heard of it until it became famous to most of the social medias that I have joined. If you have read my previous blogs, you must have read my experiences. It was really one of a kind; This blog contains a shorter version of it. This will include information and tips.

Canyoning (known as canyoneering in the U.S.A) is traveling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include other outdoor activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling (rappelling), and swimming.

Here are some information for the Canyoneering.

1. As my title says; Alegria – Badian, it also means that it starts from Alegria and ends in Badian.
2. You have to have a tour guide to start the activity; you’re not allowed to do it by yourself even if you are an adventurer by heart. You have to pay a specific amount, all includes; tour guide, entrance fee, gear, environmental fee and sometimes food. You can also leave your things at tour guides’ locker area. They will keep your things safe.
3. You will need a lot of courage, you have to rest well before the activity as it will need all your energy to sustain the activity.
4. There are 3 highest point of waterfall you can jump from; 30 feet (9 meters), 20 feet (6 meters) , 10 feet ( 3 meters) and the optional jump 50 feet (15 meters).
5. There are barbeque stations in the middle of the adventure.
6. You can rest if you want to but it would mean it’ll take more time the usual duration of the activity is 2-4 hours all depends on your speed.
7. The end point is Kawasan falls at Badian. It has three famous levels, your point of exit is the third level of Kawasan Waterfalls.
8. You should return the gear that you have rented.
9. You can enjoy Kawasan Waterfalls if you wish to stay more.
