Must Visited Places in Cebu During Summer
Summer is here! Where would you want to spend your summer? I know you are here because you are looking for a place where you can spend your vacation and enjoy the searing heat. I have listed the must go places here in Cebu during summer.
Oslob
Why go to Oslob? Because they have 3 beautiful places that you can visit, all at once. The famous; Whale shark watching, Sumilon Island and The Enchanted Tumalog Waterfalls. Whale shark watching has been very popular for quite awhile, people flock early in the morning to go there and enjoy the amazing experience. So, why wouldn’t you go and try it too? After enjoying with the sharks, you could rent a boat to Island hop going to Sumilon Island, where you could enjoy its sandbar surrounded with deep blue water. At around 2-3 pm, go back to the mainland and have a motorcycle journey to Tumalog Waterfalls and Enjoy its Enchanted view.
Alegria-Badian
Alegria and Badian are both located in South of Cebu. They have top 3 things to offer; The famous canyoneering, A waterfalls with abundant supply of water and an explicit sunset view. The canyoneering’s starting point is in Alegria and exits in Kawasan Waterfalls in Badian. After the canyoneering, why not give yourself a dip of its fresh cool water and shots of its Jacuzzi-like massage at its source. At 4 PM, you must visit Lambug beach, where you can swim while waiting for the perfect-sunset-view then you can rent tents or rooms according to your liking’s. If you ask me, the beach is the Mini-Camiguin of Cebu.
Aloguinsan
Nowadays, when I hear the place Aloguinsan, the first thing that pops in my mind is the River Cruise. The Bojo River Cruise was the very first, I had tried in Cebu. The fishermen take good care of the place. During the cruise, the fisherman usually orients you of the trees around, the myth of the place, how they started, and my favorite part is on how they prepare you to stare with the two big rocks as the boat drifts. Planning tip: Before visiting the place, you should check the calendar. Why? If by any chance, you go there in lowest level of the tide, your purpose of visiting the place, surely be forfeited for they won’t cater you. Best to go there on High-Tide and best weather.
Moalboal
Moalboal has always been famous by the locals and especially with the foreigners. The place has long white sand, rich in marine life, and Pescador Island for those who wants to Island hop. Group of teenagers, family, organization members usually visits the place, to strengthen their bonds through doing team-building activities and enjoy the summer heat.
Alcoy
Not far from the City of Cebu, just 2 hours travel and you’ll get a glimpse of white sand beach. Usually recommended for family, friends and workmates who wants short break from the busy city life. The place is convenient for everyone, you can even set-up a tent for free. The place also offers a good relaxing ambiance.
Camotes
All in one island; Powdery sand, Bohol-like-sand, Cave Swimming, Spelunking, Island hop to an islet, Sunset-Watching, Food – Tripping, Kayaking, Horseback Riding, River Cruising and more. Name it! Medellin
Known for Funtastic Island but I’d also recommend the beautiful crystal like water of Gibitngil, Medellin as well. I accidentally fell in- love with the place. I was planing to visit Funtastic-Island but sad to say the cottages were full, so we were forced to stay at the other side but not really far. Surprisingly, I was mesmerized by the exquisite rock formation and incomparable clear water. Cebu keeps on surprising me. Since, Funtastic Island is just short walking distance, you can still enjoy its (40 , 30 and 20 ) ft. cliff jumping, zip line and the kayaks.
Daan Bantayan and Bantayan
Bantayan Island and Daan Bantayan both located North of Cebu have been one of the most visited islands by the youth and foreigners. Let’s start with Daan Bantayan, why is it called Daan Bantayan? daan in cebuano dialect means “way”. Therefore, it means a way going to Bantayan. Daan Bantayan offers crystal-water.
