Camotes Islands is a group of islands in the Camotes Sea, Philippines. The island group is located east of Cebu Island, southwest of Leyte Island, and north of Bohol Island. It is 34 nautical miles (63 km; 39 mi) from Cebu City and is part of Cebu. Sometimes known as the “Lost Horizon of the South”.
I know you have heard of this wonderful place and you’re here because you wanted to know on, ‘how to make it in Camotes’.
Let me share my experiences. Take note, experiences. I had been there not once nor twice but 5 times or more. Imagine 5 times but to tell you that was not a lot of money I spent as what you are maybe thinking, you can go there in an affordable style and that frequency means I am truly a big-fan of the relaxing place . In my guide blog, I’ll be talking about a simple plan for 3 days and 2 nights stay in Camotes.
How to get there in Camotes?
The commonly asked question. If you ask me, I’d always start my travel as early as possible. In this case, one must wake up 4 am to go to Danao Port. Well, you have 4 options;
- Wake up early around 4 am. Pack your things. Go to Mandaue Highway. Get off when you reach Mandaue Highway across from the Jollibee. You’ll see jeepneys waiting to go to Danao Port. If you are planning to go later the time I stated, you can simply ask where you can ride Danao’s jeepney route to go to port. Fee depends where you rode but no more than 25 Php.
- SM Vhire terminal – Danao Port: Fee 50 Php. Since you’d be arriving at the terminal, you have to ride tricycle in going to the port which usually cost 10 Php.
- Ceres Bus, North bus terminal – Danao Port: 50 Php aircon and 35-40 Php non-aircon.
Once you get to the port. Simply, get a ticket, pay all the fees they stated and off you go. Fare is 180 Php for Economy and 200 Php for Tourist. Terminal fee of 10 Php. If you are planning to bring your car, rates will be; 1200 Php (sedan) and 1400 Php (big vehicles), one way.
